1992年にスタートしたGS音源のCD化<カルトGSコレクション>に遅れること10年でほぼ全てのレコード会社のグループサウンズが出揃います。<ミノルフォン編>とその最後の2枚が本作となります。
ザ・ブルーインパレスは、
『GS第三世代を代表するバンドとして売り出されたが、派手な人気は得られなかった。ジャズ喫茶ではよく知られていたダックス(68年1月結成)というバンドと、もう一つのバンドが名古屋で出会い、合体して生まれた。68年10月3日と4日のモンキーズ日本公演では、フローラルやポニーズとともに前座をつとめた。発足したばかりのRCAビクターから、68年10月25日「太陽の剣」でデビューした。この曲はRCAの大宣伝もあって(ラジオで頻繁にかかった)、54位に入る健闘をみせた。69年3月に発売された2枚目の「メランコリー東京」も妙に耳に残る歌謡曲で92位に入った。その後ヴォーカルが長谷幸也から長瀬実に交代。70年に入っても活動を続けヤケクソのような「苦しみのロック」を出したが、浮上することはなかった。』
ザ・リードは、
『日系一人を含むアメリカ人4人組で、先に日本に来ていた3人に68年6月に来日したマークが話を持ちかけて結成された。発足したばかりのRCAビクターから、68年10月25日シングル「悪魔がくれた青いバラ」、LP[ザ・リード・ゴーズR＆B]同時発売でデビューした。しかし単純に外人のグループだというだけあって、スーナーズのような衝撃を日本に与えることはなかった。もっぱら、日系のアーダクル・タミヤの美少年ぶりが売り物だった。このバンドが日本に残していった唯一の財産は、リード・ギターの・エルダーがGSの連中にチョーキングを教えたことであった。』

The CD release of GS sound sources, the Cult GS Collection, began in 1992, and 10 years later, almost all record companies' group sounds were released. This work includes the Minoruphon Edition and the last two albums.
The Blue Palace was marketed as a band that represents the third generation of GS, but did not achieve flashy popularity. The band was formed when another band met and merged with the band Ducks (formed in January 1968), which was well known in jazz cafes, in Nagoya. They opened for the Monkees' Japan tour on October 3rd and 4th, 1968, along with Floral and Ponies. They made their debut on October 25th, 1968 with "Sword of the Sun" from the newly established RCA Victor. This song did well, coming in at #54 thanks to RCA's heavy promotion (it was played frequently on the radio). Their second album, "Melancholy Tokyo," released in March 1969, was also a strangely catchy pop song that reached #92. After that, the vocalist was replaced by Nagase Minoru, instead of Hase Yukiya. They continued to work in 1970 and released a desperate "rock of suffering," but they never made it to the top. The Lead is a four-man American band, including one Japanese-American. They were formed when Mark, who had come to Japan in June 1968, approached the three who had already come to Japan. They made their debut on October 25, 1968, with the single "Akuma ga Kureta Aoi Bara" and the LP "The Lead Goes R&B," both released simultaneously on the newly established RCA Victor. However, simply because they were a foreign group, they did not make the same impact on Japan as the Sooners. Their main selling point was the beautiful boyish figure of Ardacre Tamiya, a Japanese-American. The only asset this band left in Japan was that lead guitarist Elder taught the GS guys how to choke. '
